How To Rotate Tires

The tires on your car are just as important as the car's engine. To make sure you get the  best performance out of your car, you need to take care of the tires. The tires are as responsible for the steering and   braking power as the steering wheel and the braking system. To ensure  you get the best possible  performance out of your tires, you need to rotate  them  about  every five thousand miles. You can rotate the tires of your car yourself at home; there's no need to take your car to the shop and pay an arm and a leg for it.

• Make sure that the car is on a level, flat service before you start removing the tires.
• Place a car jack under the front right or left side of the car. Make sure the jack is up toward the front wheel portion of the car and under the frame.
• Raise the car just enough so the tires are barely off of the ground. Then you need to place a jack stand to secure the car, and the tires are still off the ground.

• Now you will need a torque wrench to remove the lug nuts. To remove the lug nuts, turn them counter-clockwise and remove.
• Now you are able to remove the tire. After the first tire has been removed, move the jack to the rear wheel of the car.
• On the same side you started with, repeat the above process to remove the rear tire.
• Now you simply just repeat the whole process on the other side of the car.
• The tire that was on the front right wheel of the car, should be placed onto the back left side of the wheel well. Then you will move the original back left tire of the car to the right front. The back right tire and the front left tire will replace each other.
• When all the tires have been replaced, lightly screw all the wheel nuts back in place with your hand, and then tighten them with a torque wrench to finish.
